What is Botox & Dysport?

Botox and Dysport are medications that are often used to target fine lines and wrinkles, and they are very effective ways to look younger and bring balance to your facial features. They are especially useful for lines and wrinkles in the upper face for forehead lines, frown lines or “11’s” between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet. However, treatments can also be useful in the lower face to reduce a downturned smile, a gummy smile, and bunny nose.  They can also reduce prominent platysma bands of the neck, or necklace lines, that can contribute to jowling or “turkey neck”.

How does Botox & Dysport Work?

Botox/Dysport is administered by carefully injecting it into the various facial muscles using very small needles .  Within 1 to 2 weeks the medication effectively reduces the ability of the target muscle to contract strongly, and this in turn reduces the ability of the muscle to cause lines and wrinkles.   Dr. Krushel seeks to reduce wrinkles and fine lines while leaving natural expressions intact, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance.  Botox/Dysport does not increase the volume of the face and it does not cause a plumping or filling effect.

These medications, when administered by an experienced physician, can provide a safe and effective non-surgical option to achieving a refreshed and more youthful appearance.

Things To Know Before Your Botox and Dysport Treatment

What to expect before treatment?

We strive to create a relaxed atmosphere, and we will start with collecting some basic medical questions.  We will then review your goals and your concerns while examining your face and skin together.  We will then provide our advice as to what and how we might meet your goals, and assuming you are satisfied, we will then administer your treatment at that time.r

Pre Treament Instructions

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

Post Treament Instructions

After an injection I advise:

For 1 Hour: Exercise the treatment muscles by frowning, raising your eyebrows, and smiling.

For 3 Hours: Do not lie on face and avoid deep rubbing or massage of the treated areas. I recommend avoiding strenuous physical activity, hot tubs, saunas, facials, alcohol, and aspirin for at least several hours.

Botox and Dysport neuromodulator treatment results usually last for 3 to 4 months.  Depending upon one’s goals, such as trying to soften deep wrinkles or permanent lines, re-treatment is often administered before the medication has completely worn off.  Over time, repeated treatments may provide a satisfactory result for longer, and/or with less units required
